What to see?

Tutaev is a city on seven hills, on seven pure springs and seven ravines.

One of the most spiritual cities of Yaroslavl, Tutaev, stretches along two banks of the Volga River. Although the historical name of the city is closer to many – Romanov-Borisoglebsk. The banks of the Volga, which differ in atmosphere and historical name, together with the intricate terrain, give the city a special charm. The left Bank has been preserved to this day as an open-air museum.

Temples surrounded by ancient merchant houses and stunning landscapes once fascinated Boris Kustodiev. Kustodievsky Boulevard offers the most beautiful view of the right bank of Tutaev – Borisoglebsk. The main object here is the Resurrection Cathedral with the miraculous icon of the All–Merciful Savior of the early XV century.

And the USSR Park awaits those nostalgic for the recent past. In Tutaev, you can visit the museum of Admiral Fyodor Ushakov and the Russian Fleet, go on a visit to the Romanov sheep or to the museum of bell art.

A bell or a sheep wool product will be a great souvenir from here. And don't forget to taste local specialties – Romanov pies, beer, kvass, Romanov bagels and loaves.

what other cities to visit?

Each city is an amazing story:
«whatever a city, it's a city with a burrow». This proverb vividly reflects the authentic character of the «pearls» of Yaroslavia. And together they are like treasures in a box, which one wants to go through and admire endlessly. Nowhere in Russia is there such a constellation of closely juxtaposed protected and historical towns.
The main attraction of the Yaroslavl region is a constellation of 12 ancient cities: Yaroslavl, Gavrilov-Yam, Danilov, Lyubim, Myshkin, Pereslavl-Zalessky, Poshekhonye, Rostov the Great, Rybinsk, Tutaev, Uglich and the flooded Mologa. Each of them has its own unique appearance and atmosphere.
