Traditionally, Maslenitsa is a long–awaited and cheerful holiday. Spring was celebrated, and winter was accompanied by songs, dances and games.
At the end of Maslenitsa week, the territory of the Rostov Kremlin will turn into a fairground with a festive trade in Shrovetide treats.
For everyone, young and old, the museum offers a themed holiday program "How spring saw off winter" (beginning at 12:00 and 14:30).
It is educational and entertaining in nature and includes Carnival outdoor activities, concerts of bells at the bell tower of St. John the Theologian Church (sessions: 12:00, 14:30 and 16:00), a master class "Painting horses" (sessions: 10:00, 11:00, 13:30 and 15:00, the cost of participation is 300 rubles / person) in the art studio "Green Stripe".
For those who want to try on historical costumes of the tsar, boyar or Sagittarius, a photo zone will open (open from 12:00 to 16:00). Rent an outfit — 300 rubles.
In the Refectory, guests can relax, buy Rostov drinks (kvass, mead, sbiten) and tea with herbs grown in the Metropolitan Garden garden. It also offers set meals.
Guided tours and exhibitions of the museum are available throughout the day.
Admission to the festive program is carried out by ticket to the territory of the museum-reserve.
