Memorial Day of the heroes of the Sith Battle
Every year on Russia Day, on June 12, events are held at the stele near the village of Lopatino in memory of the heroes of the Battle of Sitka
A memorable date is celebrated in the Nekouz district – the day of the battle on the Sit River (1238), which became an important milestone in the history of Russia. The event takes place at a stele near the village of Lopatino.
Guests immerse themselves in the atmosphere of the past: they participate in religious processions, attend divine services and prayer services, and see costumed reenactments of the battle. There are workshops on folk crafts, a souvenir fair, and interactive playgrounds (archery, armor fitting) for visitors. Folk songs are played, and keepsake photos are created.
This is an opportunity to honor the memory of the heroes, learn more about the history of the region and spend a day in a unique cultural environment.
Schedule
The main attraction of the Yaroslavl region is a constellation of 12 ancient cities: Yaroslavl, Gavrilov-Yam, Danilov, Lyubim, Myshkin, Pereslavl-Zalessky, Poshekhonye, Rostov the Great, Rybinsk, Tutaev, Uglich and the flooded Mologa. Each of them has its own unique appearance and atmosphere.
