"PRAYERS" is a traditional votive holiday of the village of Guzhovo, the village of Ermakovo. It is officially an object of intangible cultural heritage of the Yaroslavl region.‼
Ethnographic expeditions, work with documents, and the help of club staff, museum staff, Danilovsky local historians, and residents of the villages of Ermakovo and Guzhovo make this holiday a real village celebration!!!
The feast of supplication is not just a calendar date, but a special time of spiritual concentration, when people turn to higher powers with requests, thanks and reflections on their path. This holiday is not tied to a specific religion: it exists in different cultures and traditions, taking on unique forms, but preserving the common core — a sincere dialogue between a person and something greater than himself. "Supplications" refers to the category of votive or cherished holidays established by a vow, that is, a promise to God, the Virgin, or the saints. The holiday lasts for 3 days.
Preparations are underway on the first day. Roadsides and important places of celebration are being mowed down, bushes are being cut down, and an alley is being prepared for tree planting.
The second day is dedicated to competitions.
The third day is a holiday. The "Prayers" are also famous for the fact that residents take a direct part in the celebration. After all, the holiday itself revived the old traditions here.
