The XVII All-Russian Youth Festival "The Future of Theatrical Russia", which includes performances by graduates of Russian theater schools, is held annually in Yaroslavl, the birthplace of the first Russian professional theater.
Traditionally, at the festival, graduate students of theater universities in Russia show their graduation performances on professional stages. Every year, more than two dozen performances are performed here on several stages, and about 400 future theater and film stars from theater universities from Moscow to Vladivostok come. The festival includes workshops, lectures, and creative meetings with directors, theater critics, and theater educators.

The organizers of the festival are the Russian State Academic Drama Theater named after Fyodor Volkov and the Yaroslavl State Theater Institute named after Firs Shishigin. The festival is traditionally held with the support of the Russian Ministry of Culture and the Government of the Yaroslavl Region.
