The exposition "History of Yaroslavl" is located in six halls and covers all times in the history of the city – from the foundation to the beginning of the XXI century.
On the tour, visitors will get acquainted with the history of the city of Yaroslavl – from its foundation in the XI century to the present, learn about historical events and personalities that influenced the fate of Yaroslavl. The maps and layouts featured in the exhibition will make it possible to trace the most important urban transformations of the city, and the interiors will reflect the changes in the way of life of its inhabitants. The guests will also get acquainted with the most important architectural monuments that have become the pearl of Yaroslavl architecture.
The main attraction of the Yaroslavl region is a constellation of 12 ancient cities: Yaroslavl, Gavrilov-Yam, Danilov, Lyubim, Myshkin, Pereslavl-Zalessky, Poshekhonye, Rostov the Great, Rybinsk, Tutaev, Uglich and the flooded Mologa. Each of them has its own unique appearance and atmosphere.
