A meeting was held in Moscow between Dmitry Chernyshenko, Deputy Prime Minister of Russia, and Mikhail Evraev, Governor of the Yaroslavl Region, who discussed the development of tourism, sports, education and science in the region, as well as preparations for the celebration of the 60th anniversary of the Golden Ring tourist route.

– Yaroslavl region has a huge tourist potential. We create conditions for the realization and development of the talents of children and youth," said Governor Mikhail Evraev. – We have successfully completed the tasks that we faced under the national projects "Education" and "Demography", and have started implementing new state programs that help develop territories and improve people's quality of life. We have big plans for the construction and reconstruction of sports facilities, the creation of a new tourist infrastructure, and the implementation of educational projects. I thank my federal colleagues for their support and assistance in implementing my most ambitious plans.

Tourism, as the head of the region noted at the meeting, is one of the engines of economic development in the Yaroslavl region. Four of the nine cities of the Golden Ring are located here: Yaroslavl, Rostov Veliky, Pereslavl-Zalessky and Uglich. The tourist flow is growing every year.

The region actively participates in the federal program for the creation of modular tourist accommodation facilities. Thanks to this, 104 rooms were created in 2023, and 198 in 2024. This year, according to Mikhail Evraev, new applications for the program have been prepared, as well as for preferential loans for the creation of several large hotels.

– President Vladimir Putin has set the task of accelerating the creation of a tourist infrastructure. On the eve of the Prime Minister Mikhail Mishustin announced that the program of preferential loans for the construction of tourist facilities will be expanded as part of the national project "Tourism and Hospitality". I am sure this measure will allow the Yaroslavl Region and other regions to receive additional support for the development of this industry and attract more tourists," Dmitry Chernyshenko said.

The meeting also discussed issues of supporting higher and secondary vocational education, promoting a healthy lifestyle, developing sports and creating sports infrastructure in the Yaroslavl region.

The main attraction of the Yaroslavl region is a constellation of 12 ancient cities: Yaroslavl, Gavrilov-Yam, Danilov, Lyubim, Myshkin, Pereslavl-Zalessky, Poshekhonye, Rostov the Great, Rybinsk, Tutaev, Uglich and the flooded Mologa. Each of them has its own unique appearance and atmosphere.
