Yaroslavl region was visited by about 400 thousand guests during the May holidays

The Yaroslavl Region has become one of the most sought-after destinations for travel during the May holidays. According to Governor Mikhail Evraev, the region received about 400,000 tourists at the beginning of the month.

– Yaroslavl is in the lead, it was visited by about 100 thousand guests, more than 24 thousand of them stayed overnight in hotels in the city. Compared to the same period, the popularity of the capital of the Golden Ring increased by 40%," said Mikhail Evraev, Governor of the Yaroslavl Region. – Uglichsky (about 74,000 people), Yaroslavsky (37,500), Rostov (over 35,000) districts and Pereslavl-Zalessky also entered the top 5 in the region. The newly opened modular hotels had almost 100% room reservations long before the holidays began.

Tourists also came for one day. Among them are car travelers, tourists and passengers of cruise liners. From May 1 to May 11, vessels with a capacity of 100 to 200 people entered Yaroslavl 43 times. Passengers could see the sights on their own or as part of a tour group.

Pereslavl-Zalessky was visited by about 60 thousand people during the May holidays. And at the end of April, the guests were gathered by the Spring in Pereslavl aeronautics festival held here. It was attended by teams from Moscow and the Moscow region, Kaluga, Arkhangelsk and Yoshkar-Ola.

One of the interesting events was the intensive sports sailing, which took place in the Breitovsky district at the Vetreno glamping base from May 1 to May 4. From 7 to 11 May, there was also a sailing camp for intermediate and novice athletes.

On May 10, the XVII Yuri Bashmet International Music Festival started in Yaroslavl, which annually gathers maestro and classical music fans from all over Russia in the region.

– Yaroslavl region attracts guests with its proximity to the capital, interesting events, and new hotels. For example, Vyatka Dachas, a complex of 33 new glamping sites, opened at the end of April. As of May 1, more than 80% of the rooms had already been booked," said Gohar Vatinyan, Acting Minister of Tourism of the Yaroslavl Region. – Even more guests are coming to the region thanks to the updated national project "Tourism and Hospitality" initiated by Russian President Vladimir Putin.

The main attraction of the Yaroslavl region is a constellation of 12 ancient cities: Yaroslavl, Gavrilov-Yam, Danilov, Lyubim, Myshkin, Pereslavl-Zalessky, Poshekhonye, Rostov the Great, Rybinsk, Tutaev, Uglich and the flooded Mologa. Each of them has its own unique appearance and atmosphere.
