Yaroslavl region will join the All-Russian Classical Music Marathon "Cantata. Russia"

The grandiose All-Russian classical music Marathon "Cantata. Russia" will be dedicated to the Year of Defender of the Fatherland and will become one of the key events of Russia Day. The most majestic melodies of Russia will be played in 12 regions – from Kaliningrad to Vladivostok.

– Yaroslavl region is proud to take part in such a large-scale and patriotic project. We are a region with a rich cultural heritage, the birthplace of the first Russian professional theater. Russian Russian region is also closely associated with the names of Leonid Sobinov, one of the largest representatives of the Russian classical vocal school, Nikolai Nekrasov, the great Russian writer, Lev Oshanin, the most popular lyricist, and many others. Our pride is the Yaroslavl Academic Governor's Symphony Orchestra, which will perform in one of the most beautiful and atmospheric places in the region, the Governor's Garden, where creative projects and festivals with leading musicians of the country and the world take place every summer," said Mikhail Evraev, Governor of the Yaroslavl Region.

All-Russian Classical Music Marathon "Cantata. Russia" will be held on June 12 in 12 regions of the country and will be timed to coincide with Russia Day. Within 12 hours, majestic classical motifs will be heard throughout the country – the All-Russian marathon will unite Kaliningrad, Nizhny Novgorod, Yuryevets (Ivanovo region), St. Petersburg, Vladivostok, Yaroslavl, Novosibirsk, the Republic of Crimea, Irkutsk, Yakutsk, Sevastopol. In Moscow, the All–Russian Classical Music Marathon on the occasion of Russia Day will be held at two venues - on Red Square and at the site of the National Center "Russia".

The locations of the All-Russian Marathon on Russia Day will be picturesque landscapes, iconic sights and historical sites. So, the marathon will open with a concert of classical music on the embankment of the Sports Harbor in Vladivostok. Orchestras and choirs will pick up the baton in Yakutsk, the Irkutsk Aviation Plant, Mikhailovskaya Embankment in Novosibirsk, the concert Warehouse in Nizhny Novgorod, Red Square and the National Center "Russia" in Moscow, Palace Square in St. Petersburg, the Governor's Garden in Yaroslavl, the embankment of the ancient Russian city of Yurievets Ivanovskaya in the region, in the museum and temple complex "Novy Chersonesos" in Sevastopol and in the Crimea. Since 2025, the updated national project "Tourism and Hospitality" has been helping to increase the accessibility and quality of travel in Russia.

Kaliningrad region is the westernmost region of the country, it is an outpost of Russia and its culture. And it is here that the interaction and interpenetration of cultures, so characteristic of our country, takes place in a special format. "Cantata is a conciliarity that encourages a person to make the world around them better, more beautiful, cleaner, and more sublime," said Andrey Borisov, General Producer of the Cantata Festival, General Director of the Stanislavsky and Nemirovich–Danchenko Moscow Academic Musical Theater.

All-Russian Classical Music Marathon "Cantata. Russia" will be held with the support of the Ministry of Culture of the Russian Federation.

The main attraction of the Yaroslavl region is a constellation of 12 ancient cities: Yaroslavl, Gavrilov-Yam, Danilov, Lyubim, Myshkin, Pereslavl-Zalessky, Poshekhonye, Rostov the Great, Rybinsk, Tutaev, Uglich and the flooded Mologa. Each of them has its own unique appearance and atmosphere.
