In the village of Okhotino, at the dacha of the first Russian impressionist Konstantin Korovin, a holiday was held "And we hunt in Okhotino!"
– The holiday in the format of a weekend at the artist's cottage is being held in the village of Okhotino for the second time, – said Gohar Vatinyan, Acting Minister of Tourism of the Yaroslavl region. – Last year, the program was dedicated to the 155th anniversary of Konstantin Korovin's friend, the painter Sergei Vinogradov, who often visited Okhotsk. The unusual format of the holiday attracts both residents of Yaroslavl and guests from the capital, the Moscow region, and neighboring regions. And we hope that every year the number of people who want to get acquainted with the cultural heritage of the Yaroslavl Region will increase. The national project "Tourism and Hospitality" will also help this.
A space has been created in Okhotyn, telling about the fate and work of the artist. This year, the main theme is "In our old garden...". During the year, volunteer clean-ups took place on the territory where the garden was located, the concept of the future garden was developed and the first green zone was created. And all the sites of the holiday "And we hunt in Okhotino!" were dedicated to the garden theme.
"The Korovin Foundation has set itself the goal of recreating the garden based on a reinterpretation of Korovin's stories, his paintings painted in Okhotin, and the memories of guests of his dacha," said Natalia Bulakh, Executive Director of the Union of Cities of the Golden Ring. – The garden will combine the features of a real country garden of the early twentieth century and references to the artist's creative biography.
The guests of the festival learned how the Okhotinsky Garden was reflected in Korovin's literary and artistic works, immersed themselves in the musical atmosphere of the early twentieth century thanks to performances by Yaroslavl musicians Sergei Kuznetsov and Marina Nikiforova, the vocal trio "Free Wind", the Serpentine ensemble of Russian folk instruments and the folk group Rodnaya Pesnya.
Fashion designer Tatiana Rumyantseva presented the collections of clothes "Transfiguration" and "Scarlet Flower", which received the Grand Prix of the All-Russian competition "Russian Costume".
Master classes in floristry, lectures on garden art were also held at the cottage, and a tea party was organized under a linden tree planted by Konstantin Korovin. The guests were able to take beautiful photos in the outfits of the early twentieth century in a specially organized green photo zone "Animated painting".
The holiday "And we hunt in Okhotino!" was held with the assistance of the Heritage Foundation of the Russian Diaspora. The project "Okhotinsky paradise by Konstantin Korovin. Allegories of the Country Garden" is implemented with the support of the Presidential Grants Fund.
