Yaroslavl will celebrate its 1015th anniversary on Saturday.

On May 31, a rich program has been prepared for residents and guests of the capital of the Golden Ring.

– This weekend, on May 31, Yaroslavl will celebrate its 1015th anniversary, - said Mikhail Evraev, Governor of the Yaroslavl Region. – The main events will take place on Sovetskaya Square. The grand opening of the festival will take place here, as well as concerts and orchestra shows with the participation of professional groups from other cities. I invite residents and guests of Yaroslavl to celebrate together the birthday of the ancient city with more than a thousand years of history, which we carefully preserve and develop!

The opening ceremony of the holiday on Sovetskaya Square will take place at noon, at 1 p.m. the program "Gift to your beloved City" will begin, followed by a concert and a show of orchestras with the participation of ensembles from the Yaroslavl region, Moscow, St. Petersburg, Yekaterinburg.

In the evening, modern hits and rock compositions performed by the Yaroslavl State Philharmonic Choral Chapel "Yaroslaviya" will be performed on the square, the groups "Diatonic" and "Kventi" will perform, and the opening of the digital art festival "Hour of Numbers", organized by the regional Government and the OM bureau, will take place. The Yaroslavl Academic Governor's Symphony Orchestra and DJ Mashrap will perform at the main venue of the festival at 22.20.

The historical festival "The Great Past" will be held in the Podzelenie Park. Here, guests will be able to see replicas of household antiques, military and civilian costume sets, mock-ups of weapons, ceramics, scientific achievements of past centuries, as well as dances, battles, games and demonstrations by participants of historical clubs. In addition, you can get acquainted with almost forgotten crafts and hear historical music. Historical decorations and pyrotechnic performances will allow you to immerse yourself in the atmosphere of the past.

The festival of twins "H2O, or Like two drops of water" will be held on Damansky Island from 13.00 to 15.30, and the youth festival "Summer Attraction" from 12.00 to 22.00. Master classes in painting, dancing, music, military applied arts, workout competitions and the local history game "Fort YAR" are planned here.

The holiday "Bright Summer – fruits, not sweets!" is also planned on Damansky Island. The guests will be entertained by animators-fruits, mimes, stilt walkers. They will offer to make an aquagrim and a photo as a souvenir.

On Revolyutsionnaya Street, from 12.00 to 21.00, you can get acquainted with the Tricolor in Your City project, and the patriotic marathon "The City remembers – the City is Proud" will be held here.

An exhibition of achievements will be organized on the Volzhskaya Embankment, which will tell about what happened in Yaroslavl during the 15 years of the new millennium.

On City Day, cybathletics competitions will be held in Yaroslavl for the first time: athletes with prosthetic legs and hips will demonstrate the highest skill in controlling bionic devices. The lower tier of Strelka will become the venue for the tournament, which will be attended by representatives from different regions of Russia.

"Traditionally, thousands of people go outside on City Day to experience the atmosphere of celebration and fun," said Gohar Vatinyan, Acting Minister of Tourism of the Yaroslavl Region. – Guests from Moscow, St. Petersburg, the Moscow Region and other regions come to Yaroslavl for the bright program and the birthday of the capital of the Golden Ring.
