The festival of Ancient Russian singing art "Nevma" will be held in Rostov the Great

From May 30 to June 1, the festival of ancient Russian singing art "Nevma" will be held in Rostov the Great.

– We are expanding the event calendar of the Yaroslavl region. We are adding new and interesting events to the traditional events that our residents and guests have already loved. We will hold the Nevma Festival in Rostov Veliky for the first time," said Mikhail Evraev, Governor of the Yaroslavl Region. – Guests will attend concerts of choirs in temples and hear the bells.

The festival aims to preserve and popularize the spiritual heritage of Ancient Russia, revive the traditions of znamenny chant and educate the younger generation in the spirit of Orthodox values. Among the participants of the program are the men's choir "Paraklit" (Rostov–on-Don), ensembles "The Key of Understanding" (St. Petersburg), "Ex libris" (Moscow) and others.

Rostov Veliky is one of the ten most ancient cities in Russia. In recent years, architectural monuments have been restored here, new parks and modern cultural facilities have been created, such as the Gostiny Dvor Concert and Exhibition complex, where part of the program will take place. Festival events will also be organized on the territory of the Rostov Kremlin, where guests will be able to hear bells and choirs performing in churches.

Game programs and workshops on calligraphy, making dolls and brooches, and playing ancient Russian instruments have been prepared for children and adults. Those who love history will be able to attend conferences and round tables with the participation of clergymen and scientists, specialists in ancient medieval studies.

– About 400 guests from Kostroma, Ivanov, Vladimir, Pereslavl, Vologda, St. Petersburg, Moscow and the Moscow region are already gathering for the Nevma festival. Rostov Veliky is one of the oldest cities in Russia, it is one of the leaders in terms of attractiveness for tourists. And the Nevma Festival will become one of the major cultural and historical events that will be of interest to our guests," said Gohar Vatinyan, Acting Minister of Tourism of the Yaroslavl Region. – Thanks to the national project "Tourism and Hospitality", it is becoming easier to come to our region.

The festival will open on May 30 at 1 p.m. with the scientific conference "Rostov Singing School".

The main attraction of the Yaroslavl region is a constellation of 12 ancient cities: Yaroslavl, Gavrilov-Yam, Danilov, Lyubim, Myshkin, Pereslavl-Zalessky, Poshekhonye, Rostov the Great, Rybinsk, Tutaev, Uglich and the flooded Mologa. Each of them has its own unique appearance and atmosphere.
