The ceremonial launch of the Digital Hour Festival, organized by the Regional Government and the OM Bureau, took place on Sovetskaya Square on Yaroslavl City Day. As part of the network project, a competition of media artists' works and an educational program will be held, including lectures, master classes and workshops from leading experts in the field of digital art.
– This is the second festival in Russia. The first one started last year in the capital, and this year the organizers chose Yaroslavl," said Mikhail Evraev, Governor of the Yaroslavl Region. – Applications for the competition are accepted until June 30. The videos of the finalists will be shown on street media screens in different cities of the country, including on July 6 in Yaroslavl.
The festival's opening culminated in the musical show "Planet Yaroslavl", which brought together opera singer Irina Ryndina, electronic composer Raciya Bagdad, choreographer Daria Plokhova and digital artist Seryozha Parshakov.
Entries will be evaluated in two categories: "Light in the Dark" and "Traditions in digital Reflection." The jury consists of leading experts in the fields of art and digital technologies, including Liya Chechik, PhD in Art History, Director of the School of Art and Cultural Heritage at the European University in St. Petersburg, Alexander Sankov, director of the Moscow Design Museum, Ruslan Vyaltsev, art director of the 2MRW Studio, producer and specialist in intercultural communications, founder of the artARTYPICAL practitioners Natalia Fuchs, founder of the digital agency bQ Group, co-founder of the AI Influence agency, author of the telegram channel Beskromny Dima Beskromny and others.
Special attention will be paid to practical exercises that will help participants develop their skills and implement their own projects. The contestants will be able to learn about the latest trends, technologies and tools used in the creation of digital works.

The opening ceremony was attended by Igor Lerner, CEO of the Dream advertising group, and Maria Oskina and Oleg Mironov, creators of the festival.

The Digital Hour Festival is a platform for showcasing the work of digital artists, receiving feedback from professionals, and establishing contacts with potential partners and employers.
In 2024, the works of the finalists of the competition were shown on 2,000 screens in 30 Russian cities, including seven major media facades in Moscow with the support of the Russ Group of companies. The festival received more than 300 applications, and 22 finalists were selected.
