Russian Russian Tradition exhibition, dedicated to the spiritual and family values of the Russian people, brings together rarities from the collections of two federal museums, the State Russian Museum and the Rostov Kremlin. It opens on June 5, 2025 in the exhibition space of the monument of ancient Russian architecture – the Stable Yard of the Rostov Kremlin. The opening is timed to coincide with the Cathedral of the Rostov-Yaroslavl Saints, the main church holiday of the Yaroslavl Archdiocese.

All initiatives aimed at promoting events and creating tourism products are implemented in accordance with the goals of the national Tourism and Hospitality project.

The exhibition covers two centuries of Russian art culture, from the painters Venetsianov and Tropinin to the masters of folk art of the 20th century. The focus is on family, folk traditions, rituals, holidays, crafts and everyday life. More than a hundred exhibits – paintings, costumes, toys, household items – reveal national values passed down from generation to generation.

"This exhibition is the living fabric of Russian culture. Through things, paints, ornaments, faces and scenes from folk life, we tell about the main things: about family memory, respect for work and the connection of times," said Nikita Anikin, director of the Rostov Kremlin.

The key themes of the exhibition are folk festivals, wedding customs, family life, parenting, and housekeeping. A special place is occupied by unique costumes from the regions of Russia, dowry items, Easter eggs, ceremonial dishes, rare samples of embroidery, prints and lacquer miniatures.

The exhibition "Russian Tradition" is organized with the support of the Ministry of Culture of the Russian Federation. It will become an important event of the summer museum season for the guests of Rostov Veliky traveling along the oldest Russian tourist route, the Golden Ring.

The exhibition is open from June 5 to September 14, 2025.

The main attraction of the Yaroslavl region is a constellation of 12 ancient cities: Yaroslavl, Gavrilov-Yam, Danilov, Lyubim, Myshkin, Pereslavl-Zalessky, Poshekhonye, Rostov the Great, Rybinsk, Tutaev, Uglich and the flooded Mologa. Each of them has its own unique appearance and atmosphere.
