Mikhail Evraev invited residents and guests of Yaroslavl to the Theater Week

In honor of the 275th anniversary of the Russian State Academic Drama Theater named after F.G. Volkov, the first multi-genre theater marathon "Yaroslavl – the theater capital of Russia" will be held in the regional center.

– We are preparing for the 275th anniversary of the Volkov Theater. From June 23 to June 30, Yaroslavl will immerse itself in the atmosphere of the Theater Week. The streets and squares will turn into a scenic space where performances, concerts and performances will take place every day," said Mikhail Evraev, Governor of the Yaroslavl Region. – The main events of the holiday will take place on the "golden" stage on Sovetskaya Square. The leading creative groups of the region, the Yaroslavl Symphony Orchestra and the Symphony Orchestra of the Bolshoi and Mariinsky Theaters conducted by maestro Valery Gergiev will perform here. The Theater week will end with a night performance on Volkov Square. The audience will enjoy a historical reconstruction and a 3D mapping show on the facade of the theater. The theater week will be filled with diverse events. Free events for Yaroslavl residents and guests of the city will be held on the "caramel", "golden" and "green" stages – on Youth Square, on Sovetskaya Square and in Strelka Park, respectively.

The "caramel" stage will be waiting for its youngest viewers and their parents. It will feature performances by Yaroslavl Youth Theater and Puppet Theater, meetings with actors from Yaroslavl Youth Theater, Yaroslavl and Rybinsk Puppet Theaters, Yaroslavl Circus, as well as master classes and an entertaining excursion into the magical world of dolls, fairy tales and miracles.

Strelka Day will become an interactive stage for games, quizzes and acting workshops. In the evening, theater groups will present performances, concerts, and art experiments on the "green" stage, including from the guest theaters of the marathon.

The main square of Yaroslavl, Sovetskaya Square, will host the key events of the Theater Week.

On the site at the monument to Nekrasov, on the Volga embankment, every evening there will be programs in the format of a musical intermission – these are meetings with the best musical groups.

"Wandering artists" will be seen on the central streets of the city throughout the Theater Week.

A large creative "Craftorium" will be held on Volkov and Yunost Squares, Pervomaisky Boulevard, Revolyutsionnaya Street, and Volzhskaya Embankment. In the prop and costume workshops, everyone will be able to make up, try on costumes and take pictures.

Food trucks, stalls with sweets, ice cream and drinks are provided at the key sites of the marathon.

On the first day of the Theater Week, the Lugansk Drama Theater named after Golubovich will perform on Sovetskaya Square with a creative gift for Yaroslavl residents, and in the evening there will be a meeting with the artists of the Fyodor Volkov Drama Theater.

Artists of the Kirov Drama Theater, students of St. Petersburg State University, the Moscow State Institute of Culture and young artists of the famous children's musical theater "Domisolka" from Moscow will also perform in the city as part of the festival.

On June 29, a large-scale theatrical procession will take place in the center of Yaroslavl, which will be attended by more than a thousand artists from the region. It starts at 3 p.m.

On June 30, at 19.00, a concert of the Bolshoi and Mariinsky Theaters Symphony Orchestra conducted by People's Artist of Russia, Maestro Valery Gergiev will take place on Sovetskaya Square.

The Yaroslavl Theater Week will end on June 30 at 23.30 on Volkov Square with a grandiose night performance. The 3D mapping show "Descent of the Muses" and the vertical theater "Volkovsky for All Time" will be shown on the facade of the Fyodor Volkov Theater.
