In the first three months of 2025, the demand for housing in the region on weekends and holidays increased by 20% compared to the same period last year. And the number of apartment rental offers has increased by 30%. These data were announced at a meeting of representatives of a large Russian short-term booking service with the leadership of the Ministry of Tourism and entrepreneurs of the Yaroslavl region who rent apartments and houses for rent.

– Our region is once again showing excellent performance in the field of tourism. According to a large Russian short–term booking service, we took the first place in the Central Federal District in terms of the number of bookings of apartments and country houses," said Mikhail Evraev, Governor of the Yaroslavl Region. – In addition, Yaroslavl has become the most popular city in the Golden Ring among tourists. At the beginning of the long weekend and vacation season, it accounts for more than half of all booked apartments on this legendary route. We strive to ensure that our region continues to develop and attract more and more guests due to the variety of offers, high level of service and unique atmosphere.

As noted at the meeting, recently, in Russia as a whole, almost half of tourists choose rental housing for short–term holidays, hotels account for 35%, the rest of travelers stay with relatives or friends during their trips, and the minimum part is in hostels.

The median daily rental rate in Yaroslavl was 4 thousand rubles. Kostroma is in second place with a share of 16.7% and a rate of 3.5 thousand rubles. Vladimir is in third place (14.6%), where the median price per night is 3.2 thousand rubles.

"The growing interest in Yaroslavl and the Yaroslavl Region is also linked to the general trend towards domestic tourism, which is being promoted by the national Tourism and Hospitality project initiated by Russian President Vladimir Putin," said Dmitry Dobrynin, Acting Minister of Tourism of the Yaroslavl Region. – Travelers are increasingly choosing Russian destinations. And our region attracts tourists not only with its rich history, but also with its comfortable infrastructure, a variety of excursions and event tourism.

One of the main reasons for Yaroslavl's popularity is its UNESCO World Heritage Site status.

To determine the most sought-after cities for daily rent during the 2025 tourist season, analysts collected data on the number and prices of apartment reservations in nine cities of the Golden Ring of Russia.

The main attraction of the Yaroslavl region is a constellation of 12 ancient cities: Yaroslavl, Gavrilov-Yam, Danilov, Lyubim, Myshkin, Pereslavl-Zalessky, Poshekhonye, Rostov the Great, Rybinsk, Tutaev, Uglich and the flooded Mologa. Each of them has its own unique appearance and atmosphere.
