17 July 2025, 11:02

Uglich turns 1088 on July 19, and Yaroslavl, Nekrasovsky, and Nekouzsky districts turn 96.

– Bright holidays will be held this weekend in four municipal districts at once, which will celebrate their birthdays, – said Mikhail Evraev, Governor of the Yaroslavl Region. – They have a rich history, and each is unique in its own way. Residents and guests of the region will be able to visit the festive venues and learn more about the Yaroslavl region, its history and customs through folk culture and local traditions. Such events help to increase the tourist flow.

The day of the Yaroslavl Municipal District will be held in the village of Mikhailovsky. Trampolines, children's attractions, and an exhibition and sale of handicrafts will be open for guests and residents of the district. Sports competitions will be held at the stadium. And all the main events will unfold in Gagarin Park on the banks of the Volga River. The grand opening of the festival will take place here at 17 o'clock.

This Saturday, guests are also expected at the Necouse. The main festive events will be held in the park and on Novy Nekouz Square. The ceremony, which will begin at 1 p.m., will include awarding residents and congratulations from honored guests. Residents and guests will see vivid performances by talented non-French artists and invited performers and dancers. One of the main ideas of the holiday will be to get acquainted with the gastronomic delights of local amateur chefs.

Nekrasovsky district is 96 years old, and with it the village of Nekrasovskoye will celebrate its 811th anniversary. The holiday starts in Nekrasovsky Park, where an exhibition and sale of decorative and applied art will open at 11.00. There will also be a "Library Courtyard" with book exhibitions, quizzes and bookcrossing. In the interactive areas, guests will enjoy a "Merchant Tea Party" – a theatrical costume performance in the merchant style – and "Gastronomic rows" – delicious treats from local entrepreneurs. At noon, the grand opening of the festival with the participation of creative teams is planned on the main stage.

Uglich awaits the guests on Saturday. On this day, the Ugleche Pole festival will create a unique musical portrait of the city – from the real sounds of Uglich and the voices of its inhabitants.

– This festival is one of the most notable events of this summer, – said Dmitry Dobrynin, Acting Minister of Tourism of the Yaroslavl Region. – This unusual format of the City Day celebration was first tested in 2017 and has already gained popularity and has become a local tourist attraction. Eventful and original events contribute to the development of domestic tourism, which is supported by the national project "Tourism and Hospitality", initiated by Russian President Vladimir Putin.

The main venues for the celebration will be Assumption Square, Sovetskaya Square, Spasskaya Street, Childhood Park and Victory Park, as well as the Volga River embankment.

A music festival awaits guests throughout the day.

The main attraction of the Yaroslavl region is a constellation of 12 ancient cities: Yaroslavl, Gavrilov-Yam, Danilov, Lyubim, Myshkin, Pereslavl-Zalessky, Poshekhonye, Rostov the Great, Rybinsk, Tutaev, Uglich and the flooded Mologa. Each of them has its own unique appearance and atmosphere.
