On September 13, the VIII festival "The Art of Living in the Countryside" will be held in the village of Okhotino in the Pereslavl-Zalessky district. This year's theme is "The Melody of country life". The creative legacy of the first Russian impressionist Konstantin Korovin, who loved these places very much, will be revealed through music, theater, painting and the atmosphere of a country holiday at the beginning of the 20th century.
– Konstantin Korovin was not a native of Yaroslavl land, but he chose it for creativity and country country holidays, – said Mikhail Evraev, Governor of Yaroslavl region. – In Okhotyn, near Pereslavl-Zalessky, he painted more than 150 paintings and sketches. Valentin Serov, Fyodor Chaliapin, Lyubov Orlova, Sergei Rachmaninov, Maxim Gorky and other prominent personalities came here. Now the artist's cottage has become a museum, and the very way of life and the atmosphere of creativity are recreated by the Art of Living in the Country festival. We support events that promote the development of leisure activities for residents and attract tourists to the region. The road to Korovin's cottage was restored so that as many people as possible could visit these beautiful places with a special history.
The festival is organized by the Konstantin Korovin Foundation "Let's Save Together" and traditionally unites historians, art historians, musicians, artists and creative teams from Moscow, Yaroslavl, Kostroma, Vladimir and other cities.
This year, guests will enjoy theatrical "Pictures of Okhotsk life", a performance by the bell ringer of the Moscow Kremlin Konstantin Mishurovsky with a lecture on bell ringing, a concert program, a reconstruction game "Thousand Faces", a retro project "What the old gramophone told", Korovinsky plein air, country painting classes, puppet theater performances. There will also be a retro photo studio and a fair with farm products and souvenirs.
–The Art of Living in the Country Festival is a unique opportunity to immerse yourself in the world of Russian manor culture, feel the connection of time and spend the day in an atmosphere of creativity and joy, which Konstantin Korovin praised," said Irina Shirshova, Minister of Culture of the Yaroslavl Region. – The cottage of the great artist Korovin is one of the brands of the Yaroslavl region. Bright event projects attract new guests here, contributing to solving the tasks of the national project "Tourism and Hospitality", which is being implemented on the initiative of Russian President Vladimir Putin.
