Yaroslavl, a city with more than a thousand years of history, is rightfully considered the capital of the Golden Ring. Its sights can be seen on the 1000-ruble bill.

The obverse of the bill depicts: the monument to Yaroslav the Wise, the chapel of the Kazan Mother of God and the bell tower of the Transfiguration Monastery.

These three attractions are located close to each other. The monument to Yaroslav the Wise is located on Bogoyavlenskaya Square, directly opposite the Spaso-Preobrazhensky Monastery.

The belfry of the Spaso-Preobrazhensky Monastery is depicted in the background of the obverse of the bill, behind the chapel of the Kazan Mother of God.

Now the monastery is no longer in operation, and the Yaroslavl Museum-Reserve is located in its place. The place is historical.

And the chapel of Our Lady of Kazan. It is already located behind the museum-reserve. It is located just opposite the Holy Gates of the former monastery. So if you photograph it from a certain angle, you will get just the image that is on the bill.

On the other side of the bill, another Yaroslavl landmark is depicted - the Church of St. John the Baptist with a bell tower.

This church is not located in the tourist part of the city, so it is visited less often than the places depicted on the front of the 1000-ruble note. But it's definitely worth visiting this temple! It is located almost on the banks of the Kotorosl River.

This temple is unique, has 15 domes, and overall is incredibly beautiful!

The main attraction of the Yaroslavl region is a constellation of 12 ancient cities: Yaroslavl, Gavrilov-Yam, Danilov, Lyubim, Myshkin, Pereslavl-Zalessky, Poshekhonye, Rostov the Great, Rybinsk, Tutaev, Uglich and the flooded Mologa. Each of them has its own unique appearance and atmosphere.
