The manuscript "The Word about Igor's regiment" was discovered in the Transfiguration Monastery in Yaroslavl at the end of the XVIII century by Count Alexei Ivanovich Musin-Pu

Many people believe that the Spaso-Preobrazhensky Monastery is an ancient Kremlin. But in fact, the Yaroslavl Kremlin was made of wood and dismantled back in the 18th century. Now this complex has been turned into a museum with several interesting exhibitions. The exhibition "Treasures of Yaroslavl" presents church utensils made of precious metals. And the rest of the exhibitions tell about the nature of the region, icons and the traditional Yaroslavl meal.

A special place is occupied by the exhibition dedicated to "The Word about Igor's Regiment". It was in this monastery that an ancient manuscript was found telling about Prince Igor's campaign against the Polovtsians. It was discovered and bought by Count Alexei Musin-Pushkin. It took years to translate and study the text, and in 1800 "The Word about Igor's Regiment" was published. This literary monument has become very popular and is still being studied in schools. But in 1812, during the Moscow fire, the original manuscript burned down.

The main attraction of the Yaroslavl region is a constellation of 12 ancient cities: Yaroslavl, Gavrilov-Yam, Danilov, Lyubim, Myshkin, Pereslavl-Zalessky, Poshekhonye, Rostov the Great, Rybinsk, Tutaev, Uglich and the flooded Mologa. Each of them has its own unique appearance and atmosphere.
