The Museum of Hydropower

Loading...
The Museum of Hydropower is located next to the Uglich hydroelectric power station, in the former building of the Volgolag administration.

There are 3 floors and 11 halls. This is not just a collection of exhibits telling about the history of the industry, but a real interactive center where there are no "Do not touch with your hands!" signs, because most of the exhibits are designed for this purpose. And every visitor will be able to find a lot of interesting things here.

The museum's exposition tells about the stages of development of hydropower in the USSR and Russia, about outstanding people of the profession, as well as directly about Russian hydroelectric power plants. There are also expositions dedicated to water and promising plans for the development of hydropower in Russia. Electrified maps, touch screens with educational, informative and entertaining programs designed for both adults and children, a cinema room and experienced guides will make your stay at the museum truly unforgettable – this is evidenced by the enthusiastic reviews of the first guests.

The uniqueness of the museum was also confirmed by the world's leading hydropower experts, members of the International Commission on Large Dams, the most representative and respected organization uniting the most prominent scientists and practitioners of the industry.
