Chess Alley

The only Chess Alley in Russia

Chess Alley is a unique place of its kind. Part of the Central Park of the city of Danilova, Yaroslavl region, one of the main attractions of the city.

The alley appeared in 2020. Seven sculptural figures are displayed on the "chessboard" (a wide path where tiles are laid out in a checkerboard pattern). Three-meter figures are urban types of the 19th century. A chess festival is held here, which has made Danilov the chess capital of Yaroslavl.

The main attraction of the Yaroslavl region is a constellation of 12 ancient cities: Yaroslavl, Gavrilov-Yam, Danilov, Lyubim, Myshkin, Pereslavl-Zalessky, Poshekhonye, Rostov the Great, Rybinsk, Tutaev, Uglich and the flooded Mologa. Each of them has its own unique appearance and atmosphere.
