In 2005, the country's only Museum of a driver was opened in Gavrilov-Yama. Before the revolution, coachmen were peasants who lived at postal stations and engaged in the transportation and reception of guests.
The museum's exposition is dedicated to the life of the Yamsk peasants of the XVI–XVIII centuries. In addition to the yamshchitskaya hut, there is a memorial plaque on the territory of the museum – "A message to descendants." It was installed in 2019.
The text on the plaque reads: "We are passing on to you the original traditions of the coachmen of our homeland! Be proud of them, preserve them and pass them on to future generations!"
