Our ancestors were able to use natural features for the construction of buildings. A stone two-storey mansion stands on a high hill as a symbol of sustainability.

The building was built in the first half of the XIX century in the style of provincial classicism, has a characteristic treatment of the facade, windows, cornice and plinth. Experts suggest that the architect Carlo Rossi supervised the construction of the building.

This building reflects the residents' love for semicircular gables, rare in classical architecture. A wide curved pediment with a light bulb is made above the second floor. The popular name of the house is "men's cap with a cockade". The Apakhov Mansion is an interesting example of using a typical project in regular construction. The walls are more than one meter thick.

There is a large basement under the building, which is still in good condition today, even a huge oven has been preserved, in which bread was once baked for sale. There were also flour storage rooms in the basement. The Apakhovs traded flour and bread.

There is a version that Apakhov lost his house at cards, at that time card games for money, and for quite large sums, were very popular in the town. According to the documents of 1883, the building had three owners: honorary citizen Bykova, merchant's wife Apakhov and merchant's daughter Novikov. At the beginning of the XX century, the house again became the property of the Apakhov family, there were 6 children in the family.
