Here you can learn about the history of these lands from the 3rd millennium BC to Soviet times, see the battle axe of the ancient Fatyanets and objects used by villagers in the XIX – XX centuries, hear stories about amazing examples of the entrepreneurial spirit of local people and their role in the life of the Russian Empire. The exposition is partially multimedia.

The main attraction of the Yaroslavl region is a constellation of 12 ancient cities: Yaroslavl, Gavrilov-Yam, Danilov, Lyubim, Myshkin, Pereslavl-Zalessky, Poshekhonye, Rostov the Great, Rybinsk, Tutaev, Uglich and the flooded Mologa. Each of them has its own unique appearance and atmosphere.
