The low buildings of the station do not obscure the panoramas of ancient architectural monuments, which are rich in Yaroslavl Volga embankment.
The large flat roofs of the station also serve as outdoor concert venues during city holidays. A clock tower with a spire rises above all the buildings of the river station, which organically fits into the silhouette of the Yaroslavl embankment and enriched it. The team of authors from Leningrad, led by architect Sadovsky, were awarded the State Prize of Russia for this architectural project.
