Shopping malls

The shopping malls were built at the expense of Poshekhon merchants in the 1830s. They still serve their intended purpose.

The shopping malls were built in the 1830s at the expense of Poshekhon merchants. They are located in the historical center of the city, on Freedom Square, formerly called Bazarnaya or Shopping Square. One of the buildings, each of which was divided into sections-shops, was called vegetable – here Poshekhon merchants sold food, the other was called red – here they sold haberdashery products, household items. Once upon a time there was another wooden building on the square.

Located next to the Trinity Cathedral, the main temple of Poshekhonye, shopping malls emphasize its perspective.

The main attraction of the Yaroslavl region is a constellation of 12 ancient cities: Yaroslavl, Gavrilov-Yam, Danilov, Lyubim, Myshkin, Pereslavl-Zalessky, Poshekhonye, Rostov the Great, Rybinsk, Tutaev, Uglich and the flooded Mologa. Each of them has its own unique appearance and atmosphere.
