The memorial "Military Glory" in Victory Park is dedicated to the memory of soldiers of the Red Army. There are steles in the Alley of Heroes for 13 soldiers – Heroes of the Soviet Union, who received this high title during the Second World War. In the center of the memorial is the famous monument by sculptor V. Marov, dedicated to the Korolev brothers. This is a poignant reminder of the tragic fates of seven brothers who grew up in the village of Ilyinskoye, Poshekhonsky district. The heroes gave their lives on the fronts of the Great Patriotic War: three were missing, two were buried in mass graves, the elder brother, General Korolev, died after being severely wounded during the crossing of the Dnieper and was buried in Ukraine. The last of the brothers, Sergei Korolev– died in a street fight in Berlin a few days before the Victory. The monument, opened in 1977, is a granite slab with a bas-relief of seven soldiers and their mother. The grieving figure of a woman symbolizes all mothers who lost their children in the war. An Eternal flame burns at the foot of the monument, as a symbol of eternal memory and gratitude to the fallen heroes. In the park there are commemorative signs in honor of the Poshekhon soldiers-internationalists, border guards and sailors, in memory of the hero of the First World War, pilot A. Ionov.
