The arboretum garden was founded by the Honored Forester of Russia S.F. Kharitonov in 1952. The garden area is almost 60 hectares. It can rightfully be called a "man-made" monument of nature. The garden is included in the Council of Botanical Gardens of Russia and is registered by Charles University of Prague in the international catalog of botanical gardens. There are trees and shrubs from almost all over the world – more than 660 names. Every year, residents of Pereslavl and guests of the city get acquainted with unique trees and shrubs – Chinese lemongrass, Korean cedar pine and Siberian cedar pine, Amur velvet or cork tree, "devil's" tree or Manchurian aralia, "ice" tree or green maple and many others. Since 2016, visitors can visit the "Japanese Garden", the exposition of which is made in the style of Japanese tea gardens. Cherry trees, magnolias, rhododendrons, maples and many others are planted on the territory.

You can take a walk through the garden on your own or using the services of a guide who will tell you many extraordinary facts and legends about the local green inhabitants.

The main attraction of the Yaroslavl region is a constellation of 12 ancient cities: Yaroslavl, Gavrilov-Yam, Danilov, Lyubim, Myshkin, Pereslavl-Zalessky, Poshekhonye, Rostov the Great, Rybinsk, Tutaev, Uglich and the flooded Mologa. Each of them has its own unique appearance and atmosphere.
