A tall wooden tower with brightly carved architraves and a picturesque porch with the name "Berendey's House" stands near the central road, attracting the attention of travelers with its elegant appearance. This unique house is home to the artful works of local masters of wood painting: cute nesting dolls, charming figures of animals and people, whistles and other entertaining gizmos.
And for fans of Russian folk traditions, by prior request, fun holidays are organized here: "Maslenitsa", "Honey Savior", "Ivan Kupala" and others. Every year in early summer, famous fairy-tale characters from all over Russia come to visit Tsar Berendei, and for a whole day the city turns into the fairyland of Berendei.
The main attraction of the Yaroslavl region is a constellation of 12 ancient cities: Yaroslavl, Gavrilov-Yam, Danilov, Lyubim, Myshkin, Pereslavl-Zalessky, Poshekhonye, Rostov the Great, Rybinsk, Tutaev, Uglich and the flooded Mologa. Each of them has its own unique appearance and atmosphere.
