Art object "House with a mezzanine"

Wooden merchant's house with a mezzanine, built in the third quarter of the 19th century in the style of late classicism.

Poshekhonye has acquired a new art landmark - the "House with a mezzanine". This is an old merchant's house of the 19th century. Poshekhontsy transformed it by applying an original solution for art conservation: they revived the windows, "settling" images of the past in the windows. The goal is to preserve cultural heritage, including valuable wooden architecture. The "House with a mezzanine" offers visitors a unique experience: the opportunity to look not just through the windows, but into different eras and social strata of the region, where merchants and talented people lived.

The main attraction of the Yaroslavl region is a constellation of 12 ancient cities: Yaroslavl, Gavrilov-Yam, Danilov, Lyubim, Myshkin, Pereslavl-Zalessky, Poshekhonye, Rostov the Great, Rybinsk, Tutaev, Uglich and the flooded Mologa. Each of them has its own unique appearance and atmosphere.
