Church of the Epiphany of the Lord in Novy Nekouz village

The Church of the Epiphany is now an active temple, the central temple of the Nekouz deanery, an identified cultural heritage site

The southern part of the modern village of Novy Nekouz is the ancient village of Nikolskoye in Zamoshye (Nikolo–Zamoshye), located 1 km south of the Kharino railway station, which later grew into a village Novy Nekouz (1931, the year of the formation of the new administrative center).

The village has been known since the 17th century, the Archival Service of the Yaroslavl region keeps the Metric books of the church of the village of Nikolskoye in Zamoshye for 1739, the church at that time was wooden. Only in the 19th century, two stone churches were built in the village: the Church of the Assumption of the Blessed Virgin Mary in Nikolo-Zamoshye (summer) in 1807g. (lost in the 1930s), the Church of the Epiphany (winter) was built in 1873 (now an active temple, the central temple of the Nekouz deanery, an identified cultural heritage site). The village of Nikolo-Zamoshye is currently part of Lenin Street in the Rezha microdistrict in the Novy Nekouz district center.

The main attraction of the Yaroslavl region is a constellation of 12 ancient cities: Yaroslavl, Gavrilov-Yam, Danilov, Lyubim, Myshkin, Pereslavl-Zalessky, Poshekhonye, Rostov the Great, Rybinsk, Tutaev, Uglich and the flooded Mologa. Each of them has its own unique appearance and atmosphere.
