At the entrance to the village of Vereteya there are temples of Elijah the Prophet and the Intercession of the Most Holy Theotokos. The ensemble of temples – the summer and winter churches – were built at the expense of parishioners.

The Summer Church of the Intercession of the Blessed Virgin Mary has been operating since 1792 (dimensions 46x18x12). The huge two-light quadrangle bears a five-domed rather "tonal" outlines than the original ones, but the scale of the chapters themselves, their layout vividly remind of a long time ago, of the monumental groups of "puchinisty" and close to them in outlines, so beloved back in the 17th century. The Church of the Intercession of the Most Holy Theotokos has three chapels: the middle one is in the name of the Intercession of the Most Holy Theotokos; the right one is in the name of St. John the Baptist; the left one is in the name of the Light and Wonderworker Nicholas. The refectory and bell tower were added in 1792-1793. Holy gates, turrets, fences, brick shops completed the appearance of the temple.

The winter church was built in 1809 in the name of Elijah the Prophet (dimensions 6x37x22.5). Rebuilt. It was consecrated on October 1, 1873. The church has four chapels: the middle one is in the name of Elijah the Prophet; the right one is in the name of the Epiphany of the Lord; the left one is in the name of the Tsargrad Mother of God (icon); in the meal – in the name of the Saints Kozma and Domian. The main bell weighed 350 pounds. There was in the past a gilded, rare seven-tiered iconostasis decorating a large temple. A particularly revered icon in the village of Vereteya is the icon of the Tsargrad Mother of God. In the village of Vereteya, services are held in the partially restored church of Elijah the Prophet (1809).

The complex of two churches standing side by side looks impressive and harmonious. The temples stand on the left bank of the river Severka, which gives the village a special flavor. A wooden two-storey priest's house has been preserved on the right bank.
