Danilovskaya Art Gallery

In 1997, the gallery opened its first exhibition, and since then, exhibition projects have been implemented on its site, representing both traditional academic and contemporary art, forming an educational and artistic community inside and around the gallery.

The building of the gallery is the merchant's house of V.P. of the XIX century, which belonged to the daughter of the mayor, Elizaveta Mikhailovna Romanova. At the initiative of the local community, the space that was deserted during the Soviet era was transferred to the implementation of an art gallery, the first director of which was the Danilovsky artist A.V.Zotikov.

By creating a culture of participation, the gallery invites volunteers and representatives of local communities to participate in the gallery's internal life, whose initiative has already allowed the gallery's program to be enriched with various cultural formats and to form a caring attitude of residents and guests towards the gallery.

Cooperation with honored artists of the Russian Federation and representatives of contemporary art, as well as the implementation of projects by young artists and exhibition projects of children's creativity, allowed the gallery to reach the regional level and become the "Danilovskaya Tretyakov Gallery" in the artistic environment of the region.

The main attraction of the Yaroslavl region is a constellation of 12 ancient cities: Yaroslavl, Gavrilov-Yam, Danilov, Lyubim, Myshkin, Pereslavl-Zalessky, Poshekhonye, Rostov the Great, Rybinsk, Tutaev, Uglich and the flooded Mologa. Each of them has its own unique appearance and atmosphere.
