Monument to the fighters of the Revolution

The location of the monument is not accidental – in 1919, several Red Army soldiers and communists were buried here, who died, as the memorial inscription says, "in the struggle for the establishment of Soviet power in Danilovsky district." What happened in these places a hundred years ago? In the late spring of 1919, peasant uprisings against the Bolsheviks began everywhere in Yaroslavl province, which they dubbed the "green deserters." The uprisings in Danilovsky district turned out to be the most organized, massive and long-lasting in the entire region. By the end of June and the beginning of July, the city of Danilov was surrounded on three sides by rebels who cut the railways. There were many victims of the fratricidal war on both sides, but in 1923, of course, only the Reds were commemorated. This monument is interesting because it was created by local sculptor PI Marulin and contains unconventional stucco and bas-reliefs. Most recently, the monument was restored and is an interesting reminder of the tragic events of the Civil War in these places.

The main attraction of the Yaroslavl region is a constellation of 12 ancient cities: Yaroslavl, Gavrilov-Yam, Danilov, Lyubim, Myshkin, Pereslavl-Zalessky, Poshekhonye, Rostov the Great, Rybinsk, Tutaev, Uglich and the flooded Mologa. Each of them has its own unique appearance and atmosphere.
