Rostov Trinity-Sergius Varnitsky Monastery

Rostov Trinity-Sergius Varnitsky Monastery, according to legend, was founded in 1427 at the birthplace of St. Sergius of Radonezh.

In Soviet times, most of the ensemble was destroyed. The Vvedenskaya Church, built in 1828 in the classical style, the abbot's building of 1800 and the fraternal building of 1832-1897 have been preserved. At the beginning of the XXI century. the ensemble was actually rebuilt: new walls with towers, numerous buildings, the Trinity and St. Sergius Cathedrals, the gate church in the name of Cyril and Mary appeared.

The main attraction of the Yaroslavl region is a constellation of 12 ancient cities: Yaroslavl, Gavrilov-Yam, Danilov, Lyubim, Myshkin, Pereslavl-Zalessky, Poshekhonye, Rostov the Great, Rybinsk, Tutaev, Uglich and the flooded Mologa. Each of them has its own unique appearance and atmosphere.
