The first pioneer group in Poshekhonsky district was organized at a tannery from the children of workers in early 1924.
The decision to create the park was made in 1948. With the money earned by the pioneers, a sculpture of three figures was purchased, symbolizing the pioneer group of a flag bearer, a drummer and a bugler. Alas, the former appearance of the square has not been preserved to this day.
In 2015, a sculpture of a pioneer was installed. In 2016, as part of the events of the "Let's equip the region for the anniversary" project, dedicated to the 80th anniversary of the formation of the Yaroslavl region, the appearance of Pioneer Square will be significantly transformed: lanterns appeared, bushes were improved, lighting was done, benches and urns were installed.
In 2022, according to the project "City of Five Rivers and Seven Bridges", two bike parks and a sports ground were organized for outdoor enthusiasts, and the paths were paved with paving slabs. Work has been carried out on the organization of street lighting: new poles have been installed, and overhead electrical cables have been removed underground. Places for trading are organized.
