The Red Chamber of the Rostov Kremlin

At first, the chamber was called the Imperial Mansions, as it was intended for the reception of Moscow sovereigns who came to Rostov, that is, Russian tsars.

These mansions, now commonly referred to as the Red Chamber, were built in the 70s and 80s of the 17th century. Tsars Fyodor Alekseevich and Peter I, as well as Empress Catherine II, probably stayed here. The mansions are distinguished by picturesque combinations of volumes, each of which is completed with a special steep roof. Rich window trim and a magnificent front porch topped with two tents add even more expressiveness to the building.

The main attraction of the Yaroslavl region is a constellation of 12 ancient cities: Yaroslavl, Gavrilov-Yam, Danilov, Lyubim, Myshkin, Pereslavl-Zalessky, Poshekhonye, Rostov the Great, Rybinsk, Tutaev, Uglich and the flooded Mologa. Each of them has its own unique appearance and atmosphere.
