The formation of the Novoselsky parish and the establishment of a church in Novoselka took place at the beginning of the XVIII century. At that time, this village belonged to the Nikolaevsky Ugreshsky monastery.
In 1712, its inhabitants built a church, which was then consecrated in the name of the holy prophet Elijah. In 1769, with the permission of Bishop Sylvester of Pereslavl, a new wooden church with a bell tower was built instead of this church. In 1828, instead of a wooden church, a stone church with a bell tower was built in Novoselka. There are two thrones in it: in the cold church in the name of the holy Prophet Elijah, in the warm chapel in honor of the Entry of the Most Holy Theotokos into the temple.
