The museum "House of the merchant S.A. Vagin"

The museum introduces tourists to the peculiarities of everyday life and everyday life of the poor Romanov-Borisoglebsky merchants.

The house of merchant Stepan Alexandrovich Vagin is an example of a mid–19th century urban estate. It was built according to an exemplary standard design in the classical style. The building was located on the corner of the shopping area and participated in the formation of the Borisoglebsky side center.

The house has two facades: one facing Lunacharsky Street, the former Rybinskaya Street, and the second – the main one, marked by a mezzanine, facing Romanovskaya Street. A distinctive feature of the building is the stepped facade. In this sense, it can be called a "one-piece house" with all the typical structures. Now the expositions of the Borisoglebskaya Side Museum and exhibition complex are located in this merchant's house. On the second floor of the house there are living rooms of a merchant family, on the first floor there is an entrance hall and a retail store.
