Monument to Ostap Bender
The monument to Ostap Bender was opened in 2021 on the Day of the City of Rybinsk. The sculptor A. Prokhorov. An episode of L. Gaidai's film "12 Chairs" is captured.
In 1971, L. Gaidai's film "12 Chairs" was shot in Rybinsk. The scenery was Stoyalaya St., the building of the New Bread Exchange, the Old Bread Exchange, and the Naumov estate. The beginning of the film and the main character Ostap Bender (Archil Gomiashvili) and a street boy (a local teenager) were captured by sculptor A. Prokhorov.
The main attraction of the Yaroslavl region is a constellation of 12 ancient cities: Yaroslavl, Gavrilov-Yam, Danilov, Lyubim, Myshkin, Pereslavl-Zalessky, Poshekhonye, Rostov the Great, Rybinsk, Tutaev, Uglich and the flooded Mologa. Each of them has its own unique appearance and atmosphere.
