In 1565, on the lands of the village of Fedorovskoye, a monastery estate, the Temple of the Smolensk Icon of the Mother of God, built at the expense of parishioners, was built "on a dry land" one verst from the Kast River. After 200 years, a new settlement named the village of Sereda will appear around the already renovated Temple. In 1797, instead of the dilapidated wooden one, a stone church of the Smolensk Icon of the Mother of God appeared with side chapels in honor of St. Nicholas of Myra and St. Nicholas the Wonderworker. The Great Martyr Theodore Stratelates.
The Church of Our Lady of Smolensk is included in the list of cultural heritage sites (historical and cultural monuments) of regional significance located in the Yaroslavl region. The temple is surrounded by one-story stone shopping malls. A Baroque gate topped with cupolas leads to the courtyard formed by the benches. There is an arched gate in the gate, on the other side there is a symmetrical niche for the gate. A park adjoins the church from the east. Every year, residents of the village of Sereda celebrate the local holiday "Kroshikha". The name of the holiday "Kroshikha" came from the 17th century. In the new wooden church, the accessories for worship were hidden from Polish robbers and thus preserved by a villager nicknamed Kroshilo. This most important event in the life of the village — the liberation from invaders and the heroic deed of "Crumble" — began to be celebrated annually at the same time, on the third day after Holy Trinity, on Wednesday, in June. The holiday "Kroshikha" was filled with new content — the meeting of guests and fun. Despite the remoteness of the Danilovsky municipal district from the Golden Ring route, Sereda generates its own tourist flow from the Vologda region, the village of Vyatsky and the city of Yaroslavl. The prerequisites for the development of tourism are transport accessibility. When analyzing this territory, it was revealed that the strategy of developing the public space of Sereda fully covers tourist routes. It has facilities that are not involved in economic turnover, representing open opportunities for monetization of pedestrian traffic.
