One of the main attractions of the historical and cultural complex is the Vyatka Merchant Peasant Museum, or, as it is also called, the Gorokhov House, opened in 2009. This museum was created in an old two–story house, which in the 19th and 20th centuries was owned by a peasant trader Gorokhov, a rural entrepreneur.
In the museum, guests will see the features of the layout and furnishings of living quarters, household items – from a children's sewing machine to a horse-drawn mower, the egoist sleigh and the sledge used to take Boyarina Morozova away in Surikov's famous painting. In the courtyard, you can look into the black bathhouse, as well as the cucumber pit typical of Vyatka. The guest will not fail to go down to the shop, where they still sell (including individually) the famous Vyatka pickles.
