Yaroslavl State Puppet Theater

The Yaroslavl Puppet Theater was founded by theater director and teacher Maria Slobodskaya on March 1, 1927 and is one of the oldest children's theaters in Russia. Since 1966, he has been a collective member of the international organization of puppeteers "UNIMA". The theater puts on plays of various genres and theatrical forms.

The playbill of the theater has more than 20 performances for children of all ages. The repertoire is based on fairy tales: Russian and foreign, simple-minded and philosophical, eccentric and lyrical. An important place in the repertoire is occupied by productions based on classical works: "The Snow Queen" by G. H. Andersen, "The Dwarf Nose" by V. Gauff, "The Nutcracker" by E. T. A. Hoffman, "Puss in Boots" by S. Perrault, "The Canterville Ghost" by O. Wilde and many others.

The main attraction of the Yaroslavl region is a constellation of 12 ancient cities: Yaroslavl, Gavrilov-Yam, Danilov, Lyubim, Myshkin, Pereslavl-Zalessky, Poshekhonye, Rostov the Great, Rybinsk, Tutaev, Uglich and the flooded Mologa. Each of them has its own unique appearance and atmosphere.
