Pereslavl Museum-Reserve

The Pereslavl-Zalessky Historical, Architectural and Art Museum-Reserve is one of the largest provincial museums in Russia. Founded in 1918, it was opened to the public on May 28, 1919. His collection contains more than 100,000 exhibits: a unique collection of wooden sculptures, ancient Russian icon painting, treasures of the monastery sacristy, objects of noble life.

Guided tours of exhibitions and city monuments, game and historical art programs for every taste and age are provided. Annual museum holidays such as "Christmas at the Museum", Maslenitsa, "Night of Museums", "Island of Childhood", Navy Day are always popular and attract thousands of guests.

The main attraction of the Yaroslavl region is a constellation of 12 ancient cities: Yaroslavl, Gavrilov-Yam, Danilov, Lyubim, Myshkin, Pereslavl-Zalessky, Poshekhonye, Rostov the Great, Rybinsk, Tutaev, Uglich and the flooded Mologa. Each of them has its own unique appearance and atmosphere.
