Amazing Danilov

1. The sightseeing tour begins from the main square of the city in the park of which there is a monument to Grand Duke Daniel of Moscow — the youngest son of Alexander Nevsky, glorified in the face of saints. In Danilovo, he is known as the heavenly patron of the city. According to legend, it was Prince Daniel who founded our city. The figure of the patron is made of bronze. He is depicted in a long royal robe and with a sword in his hand.

In the summer of 2023, the city of Danilov was declared the chess capital of Yaroslavl, so it is worth visiting the very center of the city, on Sovetskaya Square and taking pictures with chess pieces. The figures represent urban types of the 19th century. Each of the characters of our "Chessboard" has a different position in society and professional status, but all together they refer us to the atmosphere of the province of the times of Nikolayev Russia.
