According to one of the legends, the city of Gavrilov-Yam originates from the Yamskaya station, which was held at the intersection of the Yaroslavl-Suzdal and Yaroslavl-Moscow highways by the driver Gavrila. The myth of Russia, coachmen and troikas is supported and developed by local historical tradition. The entire Gavrilov-Yamsky district is developing under the tourist brand "Country of the driver".
